Dit werd gevierd met de symbolische overhandiging van deze Space Cab aan Louis De Wael, algemeen directeur van Vervoer Van Dievel uit Mechelen, waar de vrachtwagen met de miljoenste cabine binnenkort dienst zal doen.<\/h3>\n<p>DAF begon in 1966 de productiefaciliteiten in Belgi\u00eb te gebruiken. Tegenwoordig worden er ongeveer 180 cabines per dag geproduceerd voor de populaire DAF CF- en XF-series voor het middelzware en zware transport. Onder andere voor de nieuwste generatie Euro 6-voertuigen werd er de laatste jaren behoorlijk ge\u00efnvesteerd in de assen- en cabinefabriek van DAF in Westerlo (in totaal zo\u2019n half miljard euro sinds 2004). Zo kan de productie van de cabinecarrosserie\u00ebn nu bijna volledig geautomatiseerd gebeuren met behulp van lasrobots.
