The market for used commercial vehicles is continuing to climb rapidly. According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamts (KBA) ), 25,538 lorries were transferred to new owners last July. That was a year-on-year increase of 5.6 percent. The number of motor tractors that changed hands also increased: the statistics show 10,611 vehicles transferred, which is 8.8 percent more than in the same month of 2012. Over the year, both segments are now in the black by 1 and 2.2 percent respectively. Good news for anyone who sells used commercial vehicles.
The demand for used vehicles also increased in other sectors. The total demand for used cars has increased by 3.5 percent in 2013 to date, which corresponds to 4,232 million units in absolute figures. However, the biggest increase in the figures for July was recorded for used motorbikes. 62,972 transfers correspond to an increase of 21.8 percent. This comes as no surprise to us, because there are plenty of people who want to rush around on a motorbike in the current good weather.
